Qualifications Authority

Welcome to the National Qualifications Authority (NQA) website, a comprehensive website, rich in information, is designed for easy access for the information you need.

The NQA gives a key role to Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for the development of highly skilled individuals who can support and sustain economic development in the UAE.

This is achieved by the UAE government’s qualification framework, that aims to increase social inclusion and sets out occupational skill standards as a priority for the development of vocational skills for UAE nationals.

Being responsive to the needs of a changing economy, a more technologically advanced approach has been a priority for improved economic development. Thus supporting the UAE job market with a qualified workforce, capable of leading vital non-oil sectors in the UAE which in turn drives economic growth, for achieving international competitiveness.

Our effort is to help prepare young people to respond positively to the opportunities offered by a knowledge based economy that relies on innovation and sustainable development.

To achieve these priorities, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, issued a decree to establish the NQA in order to develop a National Qualification Framework supportive of life-long learning and Emiratisation.

Guided by the directives of our wise leaders, education is seen as a gateway for realising sustainable development by engaging the stakeholders. Further, the UAE’s post-oil strategy views excellence in education as a key enabler to achieve a sustainable and a diversified knowledge based economy.

As a result, our top priority is to enhance NQA’s roles, further enabling its responsibilities and performance in an effective and efficient manner, giving optimism and positivity for the beginning of real change. The NQA’s role will better facilitate the NQA’s drive for further achievement of the wise leaders’ UAE 2021 vision. By improving all aspects of operational processes, current and future economic and industrial development, will help to realise the UAE 2071 and 2117 visions.
